open, honest and no-nonsense
Just Brands

corporate responsibility

Just Brands believes in an open, honest and no-nonsense working environment and we strive to apply this attitude across our full supply chain. We are a proud company with a focus on the long term, high ethical standards and respect for the environment. Corporate responsibility is therefore a core focus at Just Brands, and we work continually towards a sustainable future. As an international fashion company, our production takes place in different foreign countries. We strive for safe, fair and healthy working conditions for all our partners. They are the extension of Just Brands and together we set the bar high for ethical standards and human rights.

  • We have been collaborating with the not-for-profit company Made-By since 2014. They are our consultant in CR strategy and they also monitor our progress in corporate responsibility through the Mode-Tracker. This will be published starting in March 2017.
  • Since February 2016, Just Brands has implemented the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) code of conduct as a standard for all our factories. This code of conduct contains international labour standards on working conditions.
  • Just Brands signed the ‘Agreement on Sustainable Garment & Textile’ in June 2016. We’re joining forces with trade unions, civil society organisations, other fashion retailers and the Dutch government to improve the sustainability of the international garment and textile supply chain.
  • To improve the standards of cotton production, we became a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) in October 2016. We have set clear goals on how we want to contribute to sustainable cotton.

The collaboration with Made-By: Making structural changes and offering insight in our year-on-year progress

Just Brands is aware of its impact. Therefore we formed a team with several employees from different departments to work on Corporate Responsibility. Made-By’s consulting helps us to set clear goals, which makes it possible to measure our improvement. The goal of Made-By is to make sustainable fashion common practice and to improve environmental and social conditions within the fashion industry.

Agreement on Sustainable Garment & Textile

In July 2016, Just Brands signed the ‘Agreement on Sustainable Garment & Textile’. A broad coalition of Dutch fashion companies, trade unions, civil society organisations and the Dutch government drew up an agreement to ensure the sustainability of the international garment and textile supply chain. This agreement focuses on animal welfare, child and forced labour, the use of water and chemicals, safe and healthy working conditions, fair wages, environmental impact and more.
